Information Technology

Develop and deploy IT infrastructures and services that provide access to IT solutions in critical and relevant sectors (Agriculture, Education, Health, Finance and Governance) during the reconstruction of Tigray.

The Need

  • Majority of the population in Tigray live in areas where there is no or scarce availability of IT infrastructures and services. As a result, there is a lack of availability and accessibility to IT solutions to benefit the society in meaningful ways.
  • In addition to this, the IT infrastructures that were scarcely available prior to the war are damaged and rendered out of service as a result of the war.

Our Focus

  • Develop and deploy IT infrastructures and services that are customized to provide access to IT services solutions in critical and relevant sectors for communities that live in places with no or low connectivity to the Internet and IT infrastructures.
  • Develop IT solutions that are easy to use and access as well as provide critical and relevant information that can benefit and improve the livelihoods of farmers and communities who live in rural/remote areas.
  • Develop customized IT solutions that can provide access to digital learning resources (digital libraries, interactive and non-interactive learning courses, etc.) for middle and high school students and teachers in Tigray.
  • Develop and deploy digital health-hubs that are customized to be reachable and accessible in rural areas to provide as well as collect critical and timely health related information that require immediate response to and from the public.
